Here are some common signs of illness in rabbits. If your rabbit is exhibiting any of these symptoms, call your vet immediately and schedule an appointment as soon as possible, as rabbits can go downhill very quickly once they start showing symptoms of sickness. Get to know your rabbit's normal habits, especially appetite and behaviors, so that you know when something is out of the norm.
~Lack of appetite (!)
~Dull eyes
~Lifeless coat
~Lethargy
~Difficulty breathing
~Sneezing
~Nasal discharge (!)
~Sitting in a bunched-up 'loaf' position
~Grinding teeth
~Discharge from the eyes
~White or milky film over one or both eyes
~Abnormal lumps (!)
~Diarrhea (!)
~Not pooping (!)
~Foul odor
~Not drinking water
~Drinking lots of water
~Coughing
~Strange colored urine (although some rabbits have reddish urine normally)
~Grunting
~Sudden aggression
~Head tilt
~Black gunk in the ears
~Limping
~Dragging back legs
~Sudden loss of weight or inability to keep weight on
~Unusually large/oblong poop
~Belly growls
~Bloated belly
~Very swollen/red genitalia
~Unusually fast or slow resting breathing rate
~Unusually fast or slow resting heart rate
~Difficulty standing upright
~Lack of balance or coordination
~Twisted/overgrown teeth
